Free Counselling Services
for Carbal Clients

At Carbal Medical Services, we believe that social and emotional wellbeing is an essential component of holistic healthcare. By prioritizing your emotional and mental health needs, you can lead a balanced and fulfilling life.

Our counselling services are available with no out-of-pocket cost to Carbal clients in Toowoomba and Warwick when provided with a referral from a health care worker.

We understand that seeking counselling services can be challenging, but we are here to support you every step of the way. Contact our friendly staff today to receive a preliminary assessment and formal referral from a health care worker, and take the first step towards healing and wellbeing.

Carbal’s
Counselling Services

Registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Carbal’s qualified and experienced counsellors provide evidence-based therapies that promote health and wellbeing, enhance self-understanding, can improve relationships and will support individuals to resolve identified concerns.

Our counsellors have extensive experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds who are dealing with:

  • Depression and anxiety;
  • Trauma;
  • Stress;
  • Anger;
  • Grief and loss;
  • Low Self-esteem;
  • Life transitions; and
  • Communication skills.

Eligibility

Our counselling services are available to people of all backgrounds. No referral is required.

Cost

Current Carbal clients can receive their sessions for FREE.

For Non-Carbal clients, the first session is FREE, with subsequent sessions costing only $40.00.

Privacy & Confidentiality

All consultations are confidential and your health information will only ever be accessed by those directly involved with your care, including the monitoring of its quality.

Carbal Medical Services aligns its services in accordance with the National Privacy Principals and if you are required to access any medical services, you will be asked to sign a patient consent form at our clinic.

Our Counsellors

Sam Elzanati

Registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Sam Elzanati is Carbal’s experienced in-house counsellor.

He provides evidence-based therapies that:

  • promote health and wellbeing;
  • enhance self-understanding;
  • can improve relationships; and
  • support individuals to resolve identified concerns.

Sam’s counselling sessions provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for clients to share their views, feel heard and gain new perspectives on their situations and experiences.

Sam also helps clients to learn and practice tailored strategies designed to assist them to manage their thoughts, feelings and reactions.

What Does The Referral Process Involve?

Our referral process is simple. You can choose to self-refer or discuss with your doctor about sending a letter to our Counselling Service.

Who Is Eligible To Receive These Free Counselling Services At Carbal?

All Carbal clients, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, can access our counselling services provided they have a current referral.

What Is The Cost Involved For This Service?

There is no out-of-pocket charge for our counselling services, when a referral has been provided from a registered health care worker.

Do I Need To Have A Mental Health Care Plan To Access This Service?

A mental health care plan is not required.

How Long Does An Appointment Go For?

All counselling sessions at Carbal are scheduled for a duration of 1 hour.

Are There Any Limitations As To How Many Sessions I Can Access?

No, there are no limits.

Do You Accept Referrals From Non-Carbal Clients?

No. Our counselling service is only for eligible individuals who are currently registered as clients with Carbal.

However if you are not currently a Carbal client you can discuss with our receptionist team about the possibility of transferring your medical records and becoming registered with Carbal.

Carbal clients or those involved with Carbal’s Integrated Team Care  (ITC) program can access the program for free.

Is This Service Only Available In Toowoomba?

No, our counsellors also offer appointments at Carbal’s Allied Health clinic in Warwick at least once per month.

Is There An Age Limit?

Carbal’s skilled counsellors specialise in providing support to individuals aged 12 and up.
