Carbal Medical Services is a community-responsive Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) with clinics and services across Toowoomba and Warwick. Carbal acknowledges all support provided by the Federal and State government Departments of Health and our many partners.
Our service is dedicated to improving the prevention and management of chronic disease through early intervention and improved access to culturally appropriate medical services.
Established in 2002, Carbal originated from the efforts of local Aboriginal residents to establish a culturally-appropriate and safe health service in Toowoomba that could comprehensively address the specific health needs of our people. Carbal Medical Services is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Care Organisation (ATSICCHO).
In line with our accreditation bodies, Carbal strives to provide ‘Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care in a Caring and Confidential Environment’.
Carbal Medical Services aims to provide holistic world class medical and health care services.
Carbal provides high quality, sustainable and comprehensive primary health care service with a balance of clinical and population health programs that are culturally safe, responsive to community needs, and integrated with other complementary service providers. Carbal will make a significant and growing contribution towards achieving equity in health outcomes for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who fall under Carbal’s service area.
Carbal Medical Services covers the Darling Downs, Southern Downs and Goondiwindi regions. We have eight sites across the regions and provide transport to clients to access services.
