Healing Pathways:

Family and DV
Support Services for Mob

Healing Pathways is a dedicated program designed to assist those impacted by family, domestic, or sexual violence.

We are here to support and empower our mob across Toowoomba, Warwick and surrounds, during challenging times; ensuring safety, care and help build confidence.

Understanding Family
& Domestic Violence

What is DV?

Any behaviour that’s violent, threatening, controlling or intended to make you or your family feel scared and unsafe can be considered family and domestic violence.

Did You Know?

  • Family and domestic violence isn’t always physical.
  • It can happen to anyone, no matter their age, gender or sexual orientation.
  • It can continue even when you’ve left a relationship.
  • There is no blame for you, your partner of your family.

There are Different Types of Violence.

This can include:

⚠️ Physical violence: Harming someone with actions like hitting or pushing.

⚠️ Emotional abuse: Hurting feelings with words or controlling through shame.

⚠️ Cultural/spiritual harm: Denying cultural practices or using beliefs to control.

⚠️ Financial control: Controlling access to money.

⚠️ Social abuse: Stopping you from seeing family, friends, or mob.

⚠️ Psychological Abuse: Threats, manipulation, or tactics that create fear and control what you do.

Types of violence can be subtle and you or your partner may not notice the cycle starting.

What is ‘Sexual Violence’?

  • Sexual violence is being forced, pressured or tricked into doing sexual things when you don’t want to.
  • No one has the right to make you do sexual things that you don’t want to do, even if you are married to them or in a relationship with them.
  • Sexual violence can be a form of domestic and family violence.
  • A child or person may not be aware that they are being manipulated into a vulnerable situation.

Everyone has a right
to say what happens
to their body

Generational Trauma

You may not realise that you are caught in a cycle of violence or that you’ve been experiencing it for years. Recognising these patterns is the first step towards breaking free and finding support.

Often, such cycles stem from generational trauma, which can pass down patterns of behaviour, fear, and silence. Breaking free not only helps you heal but also interrupts the cycle for future generations.

Your normal…  Is your normal…
But it may not be normal

Carbal’s Healing Pathways Program

You’re not alone on this journey.

This program is here to help you through some of the toughest times.

There’s no rush—we work on your time, not ours. Together, we’ll look at the situation, problem-solve, and guide you to reclaim the power that may have been taken.

We’re here to help you find your voice, even when it feels uncomfortable.
