Deadly Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training (FPS ST)
Deadly Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training (FPS ST) focuses on:
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and
- Narrative Therapy (NT), building on substance misuse from Deadly Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) and the social and emotional wellbeing issues resulting from COVID-19.Â
Deadly FPS is available now via Carbal’s online learning platform.
The training is RACGP, ACRRM and GPMHSC accredited for the 2023 – 2025 triennium for the following categories:

- Educational Activity: 12 hrs
- Reviewing Performance: 13 hrs

GPMHSC are offering a $600 Focussed Psycholocial Strategies Skills Training subsidy for GPs completing FPS ST for the first time.

Course Overview
Who Can Enrol?
Deadly Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training has been specifically developed for the benefit of current General Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals (Mental Health) in Australia.
Please Note – Completion of Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) is a pre-requisite for enrolling in Carbal’s Deadly FPS ST; this can be any MHST package.
Course Duration
Deadly FPS ST is a 25-hour learning package.
The entire course is required to be completed within 3 months of enrolling.

Professional attendance at consulting rooms by a general practitioner, for providing focussed psychological strategies for assessed mental disorders by a general practitioner registered with the Chief Executive Medicare as meeting the credentialling requirements for provision of this service, and lasting at least 30 minutes, but less than 40 minutes.
Item 2723
As above, but at a place other than consulting rooms.
Item 2725
Professional attendance at consulting rooms by a general practitioner, for providing focussed psychological strategies for assessed mental disorders by a general practitioner registered with the Chief Executive Medicare as meeting the credentialling requirements for provision of this service, and lasting at least 40 minutes.
Item 2727
As above, but at a place other than a consulting room.
